Cardel™ high quality lamination plates are produced to demanding specifications and closely monitored during production to ensure consistency of gloss level and surface roughness between orders and batches. In-house quality checks are regularly made to ensure we supply products of the highest quality. Lamination plates are delivered with protective easy-peel PET coating to protect them during transit and ensure that removal leaves no surface residue. If a customer requests it, we can also despatch plates with foam interleaving only.

Cardel™ customers use our plates to produce a wide range of cards for banking (Mastercard, Visa, CUP), security (identity cards, driving licences, passports), commercial, loyalty, smart and contactless for transit, and other end usages.

The Cardel™ Lamination Plate range includes:

• Cardel Ultragloss UG1™ – a high gloss (both sides) mirror finish plate with no visible surface direction or grain lines. Cardel UG1 plates are available in a range of sizes and thicknesses with or without matt grip borders as required.
• Cardel Ultragloss UG2™ – a medium gloss (both sides) finish plate with no visible surface direction or grain lines. Cardel UG2 plates are available in a range of thicknesses and sizes with or without matt grip borders as required.
• Cardel ISO™ Lamination Plate – a highly consistent silk surface ISO plate manufactured to present a high quality premium finish while ensuring that our customer end products comply with all international ISO standards and perform in line with expectations.
• Cardel USDS™ Lamination Plate – these plates are manufactured with a high quality silk finish that is receptive to Holograms, Thermal printing and Dye Sublimation printing while providing a premium look and feel to the card surface. The glossiness of the finished surface is slightly lower than the Cardel ISO plates.
• Cardel US™ Lamination Plate – a high quality silk finish that provides a premium look and feel to the card surface. The surface roughness of the end products produced from the US plate have a higher roughness level than the Cardel USDS plate and is compatible with all forms of cards other than those used in banking.
• Cardel UM™ (UltraMatt) Lamination Plate – a high quality matt finish that provides a slightly coarse look and feel to the card surface. The surface roughness of the end products produced from the plate has a higher roughness level than the Cardel US plate and is compatible with all forms of cards other than those used in banking.
• Cardel UR™ (UltraRough) Lamination Plate – high quality matt finish that provides a coarse look and feel to the card surface. The surface roughness of the end products produced from the plate has a higher roughness level than the Cardel UM plate and are used extensively in RFID Prelam manufacturing.
• Cardel TH™ through-hardened plates are approximately three times harder than the standard plates that are typically used in card manufacturing. The increased hardness provides extra durability which extends the plate lifetime and reduces waste caused by damaged plates. This is achieved by effectively preventing dents (caused by RFID inlays, etc.) and significantly reducing scratches that occur in the production environment. TH plates are available in gloss and silk variants.
